From fresh floral bouquets to rustic clusters of candles, the possibilities for your wedding décor are endless. It’s certainly exciting—but with so many choices, it can be easy to get overwhelmed.
The good news is that even the simplest wedding décor can have a big impact. It’s about setting the tone and atmosphere for your festivities (romantic, modern, cosy?) while nodding towards your personal tastes and preferences. And trust us—you can do a lot with flowers, foliage, and candles.
While the look and layout of your venue will play a big part in your decision, here’s 13 ideas from weddings we’ve hosted here at Kindred to help get you inspired.

1. Oversized florals
For the “wow” factor, look no further than oversized floral features. These will draw in the eye and really make the space feel spectacular. At the wedding pictured above, the floral feature was at the head of the space, just behind where our couple tied the knot. The dining tables were also facing towards it.
Plus, the beauty of this approach is that the rest of your décor can be fairly simple, as you don’t want to take away from the impact of the centrepiece.

2. Line the aisle with flowers (or candles)
Couples often choose to line their wedding aisle with decorations—like in this wedding above, where bunches of greenery and flowers were used. It gives a dreamy and romantic feel, and can really elevate the special moment when the wedding party walks through the rows of guests.
You might also go for candles, lanterns, dried flower petals, or confetti.

3. Dried flower bunches
We’re big fans of dried flowers here at Kindred. You can create a rustic and romantic atmosphere by placing bunches of them around your space. When done well, this frames the space and adds a sense of magic to it, without anything feeling busy or crowded.
It’s a simple idea that can be executed brilliantly for couples working to a range of budgets. The bouquets don’t necessarily have to be big, nor do you need loads of them.

4. Fairy lights
They’re a classic wedding choice for a reason: fairy lights create a cosy and intimate vibe, while adding a sense of enchantment. And did you know that seeing fairy lights is said to release the feel-good brain chemical dopamine?
Here, the lights are twinkling on the wall behind our couple during the ceremony, adding to the wonder and magic of the moment. They also look brilliant in the photos, might we add.

5. Create a centrepiece
Centrepieces don’t have to be oversized or extravagant to make an impact. Here, a simple white column, vase and bouquet steal the show. You could go for muted, earthy tones (with a splash of colour here and there if you like—our couple above used pale orange, pink, and purple tones beautifully) or even stick to neutrals. But if you did want loads of bright colours: absolutely go for it.
And remember: when you have a feature like this, your guests’ eyes will be drawn to it. Which means that the rest of your décor shouldn’t try to overpower it.

6. Woodland-inspired table décor
Using natural materials—here you can see pine cones, for example—gives a warm, tranquil, and enchanting feel to your space. This approach is sometimes described as “bringing the outside in”, and it’s so popular because most of us find nature to be calming and beautiful.
This also adds depth and texture to your overall décor, and makes for stunning photos. If you’re wanting to add an autumnal feel, include deep red, brown, and orange tones.

7. Autumnal bouquets
Speaking of autumn, why not create bouquets using seasonal greenery—including richly-coloured autumn leaves? You can place them around your space in vases or use them as table décor. It’s a slight riff on the traditional floral bouquets, but no less beautiful.
Autumn is known for its captivating colour palette, and many of us would associate it with a sense of cosiness, warmth, and romance. That sounds like a lovely vibe for a wedding, if you ask us.

8. Floral table runner
Your wedding meal is usually one of the day’s main events, so why not add a charming floral arrangement on top of your table runner? It’s sophisticated and elegant, and even the most simple arrangements will elevate your tablescape.
And as well as adding a pop of colour and freshness to the table, the low centrepiece makes it easy for your guests to speak to one another. Like our couple here have done, you might also choose to add tealights or other elements, like dried flowers or woodland decorations.

9. Balloons
Who said balloons are just for kids’ parties? They’re fun and whimsical—and when done well they can feel elegant, too. You can use balloons to add in pops of colour or stick to a more classic wedding palette, as our couple here have done.
Balloon displays can frame important areas of your venue (like the entrance or near a photo area) or be used to create an arch or window that stands behind you during the ceremony. Plus, you can add a personal touch by having words written onto them.

10. Winter wonderland
There’s plenty of things to love about Christmas, like the cosiness and spending time with your loved ones. A lot of people see the holidays as a magical time—so it makes perfect sense that this could inspire your wedding décor.
Traditional, classy and romantic, the winter wonderland aesthetic lends itself perfectly to weddings celebrated in the colder months. Think candles, rustic wooden furniture, and even a Christmas tree if you’re so inclined.

11. Simple white bouquet table decorations
Sometimes, keeping it simple is the perfect choice, like decorating your tables with gorgeous bouquets. A white and soft neutral colour palette gives a timeless, yet warm and romantic feel. Not only will this be stunning in the moment, but your photos won’t ever go out of style.
And when you’re going for understated elegance, even the most minimal décor choices can create a rich and dreamy atmosphere. Less can really be more.

12. Ceremony chair flowers
Decorate your wedding aisle by attaching flowers and greenery to your guests’ chairs. This can look really spectacular: it gives your ceremony space that extra “wow” factor and emphasises the significance of the aisle.
The greenery you choose doesn’t need to be particularly extravagant—simple arrangements of foliage can be absolutely breathtaking. In fact, recent years have seen more couples opt for foliage rather than solely focusing on flowers. This lends a more laid-back feel to the space.

13. Clustered floor candles
Candles can instantly make any space feel tranquil and inviting—and when you arrange them in clusters, like our couple above have done, it can create an almost dream-like atmosphere. You could use them to frame an important space, like a stage or the wedding party’s dinner table.
And as with fairy lights, candles create a sense of intimacy. They’re also associated with warmth and romance, which are ideal vibes for a wedding celebration.
