There’s no single going rate for meeting room hire in London. That’s because not all meeting rooms are the same.
Smaller rooms will generally be cheaper, while rooms that have more facilities will probably cost you more. Location also matters. Rooms in central London will usually be more expensive than those in residential areas.
But to give you some ballpark figures:
- Hourly meeting room hire in London generally falls between £20-£150
- Simple small rooms, maybe for 2-4 people, can cost as little as £15 per hour
- Larger rooms at premium venues can be upwards of £300 per hour
What determines the cost of a meeting room in London?
We touched on this a little earlier. Here’s what factors in:
Size and capacity
Smaller rooms will almost always come in cheaper than larger ones, for the simple reason that they take up less valuable floor space. Usually, a small room can host up to four people.
Location
The more central the location, the higher meeting room fees tend to go up. If you’re looking for a space in Westminster, for instance, you’ll usually pay more than if the room was further out.
Facilities
A simpler room with minimal facilities—table, chairs, wifi, and a screen—will be kinder on the wallet than a space with higher-spec AV equipment.
Meeting duration
How long you need the space for is also a big factor. As you would expect: the more time you rent the room for, the more you’ll pay.

Meeting room pricing: dry hire vs DDR
When looking for a meeting room, you might notice that the prices are sometimes listed in different ways. Some vendors might have a day delegate rate (DDR) or a daily dry hire fee. These are just different ways of packaging up the service. Here’s what to know.
Day delegate rate (DDR)
This is when meeting room hire is charged per person, typically either for a half or full day. It’s often used by venues like hotels or dedicated events venues (like us).
Here, all the costs for the day are bundled into that one rate, per person. That includes fees for the room, equipment, and catering. Often, there’s a minimum number of guests (delegates) that need to be present.
Good to know: DDRs are sometimes presented as hourly fees. At Kindred, we have DDRs for hourly, half-day, and full-day hire.
Dry hire
Dry hire means that you’re only paying for the space. Some venues offer some extras, including AV use. It’s a more flexible option that may be better suited to smaller groups. These fees can be per hour, half or full day, depending on the venue.

Your London meeting
Looking for a meeting room that’s as functional as it is beautiful? What about one that’s designed beautifully, and is just a few minutes’ walk from a tube stop?
Kindred offers multiple spaces for events of all sizes. For meetings of 12-16 people, there’s Butterwick: a stately room with high ceilings and original early eighteenth century panelling.
Larger meetings, such as offsites and workshops of up to 40-45 (depending on layout), may be better suited to the Library. It’s an atmospheric space with high arched windows and wall-to-wall bookshelves. The adjoining Salon Bar can be hired as a breakout space.
The Hall, our airy second-floor space, can host up to 120 delegates (standing). It’s a much-loved West London conference venue: high arched windows, an original fireplace, a raised stage and a private bar.
