Kindred x Strangers in the City Community Dinner - Kindred

Kindred x Strangers in the City Community Dinner

One Monday a month, we cook one big dinner, and everyone is invited. For free.

This October, in celebration of Black History Month we’ll be partnering with our friends at Strangers in the City, alongside St. Best Jamaican Cuisine who will be bringing the flavour.

So, how does it work?

We’ll be hosting 100 strangers on two long tables, playing some ice-breaker games to help people get to know each other, and serving a delicious, shared feast. Guests are encouraged to attend solo, to serve one another before they serve themselves, put their phones away, and concentrate on being in the moment.

Please note that entry is by ballot, and only 1 ticket can be requested per person. Successful ballot entrants will be notified by 5pm on Tuesday 1st October, entering the ballot does not guarantee you a place.

There will also be an option donate to our partner charity, the Nourish Hub on the night if you choose to do so, but there’s no obligation.

About Strangers in the City: @strangersinthecityevents

Strangers in the City is a try-it-out series of events that provides a safe and neutral space for participants to step out of their comfort zones and connect with others. It brings together adults who are experiencing record-breaking levels of loneliness, partially due to our post-pandemic office less world.

Our tech-savvy habits have made making new friendships in adulthood even harder; few spaces exist specifically for us to foster new relationships. On a planet of 8 billion, loneliness should be the last of our worries, and Strangers in the City want to be part of the solution.

About St. Best Jamaican Cuisine: @stbestjamaicancuisine

St. Best Jamaican Cuisine was founded by Jamaican born Sharon Watson, who wanted to bring her beautiful Island to the tip of her customer’s tongue.

The recipes and cooking skills have been passed down through generations of the same family so if you haven’t visited Jamaica before, St. Best will transport you with all the colourful, delicious and tasty food it has to offer.
