Join Lewis Hayes, the founder and master distiller behind DropWorks, for a flavour-packed evening exploring what happens when a bartender gets obsessed with making rum the right way: from scratch, with nothing to hide.

Guests will be welcomed with a drink on arrival, then taken through a guided tasting of the DropWorks portfolio, with Lewis on hand to walk you through the thinking, the process, and the craft behind each Drop.

Alongside the tasting, enjoy a selection of amuse-bouches from the Cellar at Kindred kitchen, thoughtfully prepared to complement the experience.

To finish, you’ll be treated to a nightcap of a Smoked Demerara Barrel Drop Old Fashioned. Trust us, it’s one you won’t forget.

About DropWorks
Founded in 2023 by bartender-turned-distiller Lewis Hayes, DropWorks is built on a single, uncompromising belief: everyone deserves to experience the good stuff. After tasting thousands of rums and finding a category crowded with shortcuts and artificial flavourings, Lewis set out to do something different, and properly.

Based at the historic Welbeck Estate in Nottinghamshire, DropWorks is now Europe’s largest rum distillery. Every Drop is made from scratch: Grade A molasses, long fermentations using their own cultivated wild Trinity yeast strain, and three bespoke copper stills, including England’s first double retort. No glycerol. No artificial flavourings. No shortcuts.

The result is a range of naturally full-flavoured, modern British rums that are already turning heads. Award winners at the IWSC, London Spirits Competition, and the Rum & Cachaça Masters, and as seen on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

About Lewis Hayes
Lewis Hayes spent years behind bars — literally. As a bartender and bar owner, he developed an encyclopaedic knowledge of rum and a growing frustration with what the category had become: over-sweetened, artificially flavoured, and opaque about how it was made. So in 2023, he decided to build the distillery he wished existed.

As Founder and Master Distiller of DropWorks, Lewis oversees every aspect of production, from the cultivation of their unique Trinity yeast strain to the maturation of barrels across three distinct ageing locations. His approach is hands-on, his palate is exacting, and his ethos is refreshingly simple: make honest, creative, transparent rum and let the flavour do the talking.
