About Simone (and Live Band!)
Simone is a singer and performer, who was born and raised in Luton, before moving to the big city in 2018 to pursue her passion. Simone has an old spirit, and from growing up listening to soul, classic RnB, jazz and gospel, she now draws influence from these styles in her voice and music.
From a young age, Simone was fortunate enough to develop a wealth of experience performing in a number of different capacities, from international jazz festivals to prestigious concert halls. From singing in choirs, a cappella groups, and lead vocalist of jazz bands, Simone has since enjoyed coming into herself as a solo performer, and has led stages in many different capacities, including singing for Commonwealth ministers in 2019.
Simone made her west-end debut in 2019 as an understudy for Whitney Houston in the sell-out show, Whitney Houston: Queen of the Night, UK and international tour, which travelled to countries such as Poland, Monaco and Brazil. Simone was also a cast member for the tribute theatre show, Tina Turner: What’s love got to do with it, and played Motormouth Maybelle in the Hertford Theatre production of Hairspray.
Simone is a strong believer in the soulful, healing power of music, and aspires to capture this through her own work. In this performance, accompanied by piano, she will pay homage to some of the best known soul and RnB greats, entwined with her take on the modern sounds of a few greats in the making.
