Members’ Spotlight #1: Rabot 1745

Rabot 1745

As our very first Members Spotlight, we want to introduce you to the wonderful team behind Rabot 1745, a new luxurious beauty product range, using cocoa from Hotel Chocolat’s own cocoa plantation, the Rabot Estate in St Lucia. The Rabot team are all founding members here at Kindred, and we’re so excited to tell you a little bit more about them.

The brains behind Hotel Chocolat wanted to disrupt the traditional cocoa farming model and introduce a sustainable, ethically produced chocolate to a mass market. The same cocoa is used in Rabot 1745 products as well as other native fruits and flowers as a love story to St Lucia, and the people and plants that flourish there. We love it so much that we have some Rabot 1745 hand soap for you all to try in our bathrooms here at Kindred.

Here’s what The Rabot 1745 team say about Kindred:

“We started out in an office overlooking the Thames, above The River Café in Hammersmith where we shared space with an eclectic mix of self-employed people and a black Labrador.

When the lease came to an end, we really didn’t think we could beat this environment, but Kindred opened up and it did.

The food is almost on a par with The River Café, the flat whites are hard to beat, the fireplace replaces the river view but above all, you can’t beat the people both behind the scenes and on the tables. It’s opened up many a business opportunity and we hope will continue to do so as we grow.”

With a masterful balance of luxury, indulgence, sustainability and good storytelling, each of their products has its own identity – like the Coffee Cup Body Scrub (in a reusable bamboo coffee cup), Liquid Chocolate Body Mask, and the mysterious ‘Wonder Balm’ (made with Bois Bandé – a rainforest ingredient loved for centuries for its aphrodisiac properties…) presented in a reusable bamboo jar.

A close-knit team, each member of the Rabot gang has a passion for sustainability, and are individually always on the lookout to collaborate with others on new projects and ideas. Between them, they have extensive knowledge, experience and an authentic love for the world; and are always generous with their time and advice for anyone going through those startup woes! They run several other beauty brands outside of Rabot 1745 and are always looking for organised, self-starters with strong commercial/retail/wholesale experience with a fluid approach.

And that’s Rabot 1745! Where can you find them? Well Kindred of course, but if you fancy looking them up, their links are below
